I actually like this and I'm not just saying that to cheer you up... though you may not see this as a "massive display of talent" a minimalistic approach can often make a bolder statement than a piece crammed with many elements.

I also do not believe there is a direct correlation between the time spent working on a piece and the quality of said work.

Are you just feeling burnt out or tired of the same routine? I get that way often and have to take a break from the entire internet/computer thing. When I return, I try to find a contest or something to inspire me to pick it back up. Although sometimes I go for weeks without writing or manipulating (art).

Hang in there sweetie, and I think it is very good you put these feelings into this piece. I love the "blank space" and minimalistic feel and the expression is so familiar to me.

Nah, it is still from Jon dying. Since you live near me you probably heard about it on the news. Remember the two men that died in a wreck where the driver was charged with 2 counts of DUI involving death leaving Freedom Weekend Aloft... well, me and Jon used to date and were fixing to get back together. We were still like best friends but due to some shit I was going through with a place where he worked we decided to take a little break because I didn't want him to get any shit from his boss... blah blah...
Anyways, I am still so heartbroken that it just is greatly affecting my art however I refuse to quit doing any because he was also an artist and would kick my ass but I just feel so dead inside...
But no its not DA however screwy it can sometimes be because this is where my closest friends are outside of real life because you all know me in the ways that the uptight Bible thumpers *you know what I mean* are around here....
AND I LOVE YOU GUYS because you all are what keep my artistic side going with Jon's memory
